Stephanie Huang was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska and received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. As an undergraduate, she returned home during the summers to work in the local hospital’s laboratory. After graduating, she worked as a certified nurse assistant during the day and volunteered in the Emergency Department at night.
Coming from a family of generational doctors, and being exposed first hand to patient care, she decided to further her education as a Physician Assistant so that she can serve both doctors and patients. She graduated from the Masters of Physician Assistant Practice Program at University of Southern California in 2010. During her elective clinical rotation, she spent four months working in a complex headache and general neurology clinic in Fullerton, California. She also had extensive training and experience in headache management, vestibular disorders, balance and gait disorders and spine disorders.
“As an Advanced Practitioner, I am able to spend more time with the patient and free up the doctor’s time to focus on more complex cases. I have the luxury of spending more time with the patients; getting to know them, educating them and especially listening to them. If you listen, most of the time the patients give you the answers.”
Stephanie is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the California Board of Medicine.
