Dr. Ross M. Hamilton has a passion for neurology, driven by a desire to improve patient outcomes in this intricate field. He is a board-certified neurologist with specialized training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology, focusing on EEG.
Dr. Hamilton completed his undergraduate studies at Carleton College, earning honors such as the American Chemical Society Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry. He was also a four-year letterman and captain of the Carleton Men’s Varsity Soccer Team, highlighting his dedication and leadership both on and off the field.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, supported by the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program. During medical school, he engaged in the Deaf Health Pathway, addressing the unique health challenges of the deaf community.
Dr. Hamilton completed his residency in Adult Neurology at the University of Rochester, where he received extensive training in both inpatient and outpatient settings. His exemplary teaching skills earned him the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Resident Teaching Award.
Following residency, Dr. Hamilton served as an officer in the U.S. Navy assigned to the Navy Medical Corps, serving as a Staff Neurologist at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Dr. Hamilton provided comprehensive neurological care, chaired the Healthcare Ethics Committee, and played a pivotal role in COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
Dr. Hamilton completed his fellowship training at the University of Washington, specializing in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. This advanced training equips him with specialized skills in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and expertise in reading all types of EEGs.
Dr. Hamilton’s professional affiliations include the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. He is dedicated to advocating for his patients.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Hamilton enjoys soccer, scuba diving, skiing, travel, and exploring various cuisines. His dedication to neurology and his diverse interests make him a compassionate and well-rounded physician, committed to making a positive impact in the lives of his patients.
