Richard Lane, M.D.

Dr. Lane received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. While at Georgetown, he completed two longitudinal academic tracks, including the Health Justice Scholar Track and the Medical Education Research Scholar Track.  He then completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Lane returned to the east coast to complete his Neurology residency at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine, where he was recognized for his dedication to teaching residents and medical students. Dr. Lane returned to California, were he completed a clinical fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of California, San Diego. During his fellowship Dr. Lane participated as co-investigator of seven different clinical trials.

Dr. Lane joined The Neurology Center as a neurohospitalist, with a primary focus in both General and Vascular Neurology. He treats patients with a wide variety of neurologic conditions, and has a special clinical interest in acute stroke, advanced brain imaging, acute stroke treatments and interventions, acute stroke care delivery including Telestroke and stroke disparities. As a fellowship trained vascular neurologist, he is able to manage the most complex cerebrovascular cases.

Dr. Lane is passionate about helping patients with neurologic disorders and his goal is to provide the highest level of patient care. He believes in effective patient-doctor communication and strives to provide individualized attention to the needs of each patient. Dr. Lane is fluent in Spanish and is a strong supporter of clinical education and believes each patient should come away knowing what happened, why it happened and what is being done about it.
