Daniel Micheli, M.D

Dr. Micheli was born and raised in San Diego, and moved up the coast to complete his undergraduate degree in Cell and Developmental Biology at U.C. Santa Barbara. He then returned to San Diego, where he worked on an ambulance for 2 years providing emergency care as an EMT. This was followed by 2 years of bench research in the R&D division at Diazyme Laboratories, which involved designing clinical diagnostic assays for serum Troponin I, Lipoprotein(a), Vitamin D, and C-Reactive Protein. He went on to complete his medical degree at Western Michigan University, after which he returned to California to complete his internship in Internal Medicine at U.C. Irvine. Dr. Micheli then moved back to his hometown of San Diego, where he completed his Adult Neurology residency at U.C. San Diego.

Dr. Micheli is interested in a wide variety of neurologic subspecialties, with specific passion for treating patients with Alzheimer’s disease, neuromuscular disorders, headache disorders and epilepsy. He also enjoys interpreting neuroimaging and performing chemodenervation procedures. Above all, Dr. Micheli prioritizes patient care and communication. He takes time to understand each patient’s goals, and uses them to develop individualized treatment plans that balance evidence-based care with patient preferences.

In his free time, Dr. Micheli enjoys trying new restaurants, staying active in the beautiful San Diego weather, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with his beagle Jessie.
