Referral Coordinator

Job Description

We are an incredibly fast paced Neurology practice in Carlsbad CA, that seeks a referral coordinator to request and manage incoming referrals, identify insurance or scheduling errors on doctor schedules.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, with excellent communication skills. Qualifications include:

Recent experience verifying eligibility and requesting/obtaining authorizations in a high-volume environment.

Ability to distinguish between primary and secondary payers and identify insurance products.

Experienced with HMOs, PPOs, POSs, EPOs, Medicare. Understanding of each through the referral and authorization process.

Strong computer skills including EMR experience a must. Please list EMR system(s) that you have worked with. Epic experience a plus.

Self-motivated with a strong work-ethic, solid interpersonal skills and excellent organization and prioritization skills.

Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills

Work efficiently under deadlines

Dependable / Punctuality is a must

Experience with requesting or ordering Botox medication is a plus

Sleep Technician

Job Description

The Sleep Center of Southern California is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician. If you are looking to join a highly motivated team that is focused on providing the best quality patient care, then this is the opportunity for you.

A Polysomnographic Technician works under the general supervision of the Sleep Center Medical Director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This will involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technician can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician as outlined in the RPSGT Handbook.

  • Follow sleep clinic’s protocols related to the sleep study.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills necessary to explain procedures and proper documentation as outlined in the clinic’s policy and procedure manual.
  • Ability to set- up and conduct all types of sleep disorder testing.
  • Must have understanding of all aspects of sleep medicine and its related disorders, as well as complete technical knowledge of sleep diagnostic equipment. To include but not limited to: baseline polysomnography, Bipap / Cpap Titration and studies, Oxygen supplementation and titration, Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), and Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT) in accordance to the AASM guidelines and clinic’s policy and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and able to solve problems and tasks in a timely professional manner.
  • Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintenance of sleep study equipment in a professional manner and properly storing equipment and supplies as well as getting the room set-up for the next scheduled test.

Qualifications:

  • RPSGT Certification preferred
  • Minimum 6 months in Sleep Study setting preferred.
  • Current BLS certification
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Medical Assistant

Job Description

Qualifications include:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • High School graduate with at least one year vocational training or experience in the medical field
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of HMO/PPO/POS/Medicare
  • Strong computer skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists physician(s) in all aspects of patient care, including maintaining and overseeing the physician’s schedule.
  • Maintain the patient’s electronic medical records, educate patients and answer patient questions under the direction and supervision of the physician.
  • Register new patients.
  • Schedule new and follow up appointments for multiple locations.
  • Check in and check out patients, create referrals, cover front desk duties as needed.
  • Obtain insurance eligibility and check for valid authorization.
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medications and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepare patients charts 3 days prior to patient’s appointment, prepare for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and take vitals.
  • Comply with Joint Commission requirements.
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders.

Patient Account Rep – Biller/Data Entry

Job Description

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands.
  • Good verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and terminology helpful.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality, employee confidentiality and medical ethics.
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel or comparable word processing and spreadsheet programs and use of Internet.
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist billing staff with correspondence, reprocessing denied or underpaid claims. Resubmit insurance claims as necessary.
  • Update patient accounts with current insurance or billing information.
  • Provide clear documentation in medical record system and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Post all mail payments and hospital charges.
  • Bill office visit charges.
  • Assist with insurance correspondence.
  • Research mail returns and make necessary corrections in Epic.
  • Prepare accounts for approvals to send to collections.
  • Work aged balance report.
  • File and manage all payment transactions.
  • Request medical records or supporting documentation from remote sites and hospitals as needed to attach to claims.
  • Run reports for missed charges on all doctors.
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects and back up billers.
