Registered Polysomnographic Technologist

Job Description

We are a 4-bed sleep center in Carlsbad, California. We are currently looking for a full time PSG technologist to work 12 hour shifts 3 days per week (likely Thursday, Friday, Saturday).

Requirements include:

  • Successful completion of a sleep technology program, associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility.
  • A minimum of six months of experience as a sleep trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT) Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Responsibilities:

  • Patient preparation for PSGs, CPAP and BiPAP titration studies, split night studies, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT).
  • Conduct and score PSGs with and without positive airway pressure titration (PAP), Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT).
  • Collect information pertinent to the interpretation of tests, patient care and patient education.

Neuropsychology Technician

Job description

We are seeking a full-time neuropsychological technician to administer and score neuropsychological assessments to a diverse population within the San Diego community at The Neurology Center of Southern California. Applicants must be able to maintain professionalism and appropriate conduct with patients. Preferred applicants are able to multi-task efficiently, maintain strong organizational skills, implement a problem-solving approach to work, and demonstrate self-direction in the completion of their duties. English proficiency required. Multi-language abilities are a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in psychology or a related field required.

Qualifications

  • Neuropsychological testing and scoring experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Excellent basic math skills
  • Attentive to detail

Job Responsibilities

  • Administering and scoring of neuropsychological tests (e.g., face to face with a patient for 2-4 hours per day, data entry); 5-6 cases/week

  • Administrative and clerical tasks; working within EMR (Epic); assisting with patient appointment reminder calls, scheduling appointments

Referral Coordinator

Job Description

We are an incredibly fast paced Neurology practice in Carlsbad CA, that seeks a referral coordinator to request and manage incoming referrals, identify insurance or scheduling errors on doctor schedules.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, with excellent communication skills. Qualifications include:

Recent experience verifying eligibility and requesting/obtaining authorizations in a high-volume environment.

Ability to distinguish between primary and secondary payers and identify insurance products.

Experienced with HMOs, PPOs, POSs, EPOs, Medicare. Understanding of each through the referral and authorization process.

Strong computer skills including EMR experience a must. Please list EMR system(s) that you have worked with. Epic experience a plus.

Self-motivated with a strong work-ethic, solid interpersonal skills and excellent organization and prioritization skills.

Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills

Work efficiently under deadlines

Dependable / Punctuality is a must

Experience with requesting or ordering Botox medication is a plus

The Neurology Center of Southern California has been taking care of patients in San Diego for more than 40 years. Based in Carlsbad, the group has grown to more than 35 providers with five regional offices. We are expanding our scheduling team and looking for hard-working, enthusiastic candidates.

Only candidates with healthcare experience will be considered.

In this fast-paced position, you will be responsible for greeting  patients, checking patients in for their appointments, collecting new patient forms, co-pays and insurance information, scheduling follow up appointments, processing orders and processing various forms and form fees.

Candidate must be welcoming, sincere and have a pleasant disposition.  Prior experience at a medical office front desk is required.  Helpful experience would be knowledge of health insurance plans: HMO plans, PPO plans and Medicare.

Medical Assistant

Job Description

Qualifications include:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • High School graduate with at least one year vocational training or experience in the medical field
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records

  • Understanding of HMO/PPO/POS/Medicare

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists physician(s) in all aspects of patient care, including maintaining and overseeing the physician’s schedule.
  • Maintain the patient’s electronic medical records, educate patients and answer patient questions under the direction and supervision of the physician.
  • Register new patients.
  • Schedule new and follow up appointments for multiple locations.
  • Check in and check out patients, create referrals, cover front desk duties as needed.
  • Obtain insurance eligibility and check for valid authorization.
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medications and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepare patients charts 3 days prior to patient’s appointment, prepare for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and take vitals.
  • Comply with Joint Commission requirements.
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders.

Team members begin at $17.00 per hour and earn bonuses for each scheduled appointment. Qualified candidates also earn up to $400.00 in experience-based bonuses by demonstrating proficiency during their first month of employment. Bonuses for schedulers include “Epic Experience”, “Neurology Terminology”, and “Insurance Proficiency”.

Patient Account Rep – Biller/Data Entry

Job Description

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands.
  • Good verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of medical practice and terminology helpful.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality, employee confidentiality and medical ethics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist billing staff with correspondence, reprocessing denied or underpaid claims. Resubmit insurance claims as necessary.

  • Post all mail payments and hospital charges.
  • Bill office visit charges.
  • Assist with insurance correspondence.
  • Research mail returns and make necessary corrections in Epic.
  • Prepare accounts for approvals to send to collections.
  • Work aged balance report.
  • File and manage all payment transactions.
  • Request medical records or supporting documentation from remote sites and hospitals as needed to attach to claims.
  • Run reports for missed charges on all doctors.
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects and back up billers.
